I'm Starlight.
I am 27 years old. Raised Episcopalian by my grandmother, I rejected that path at the tender age of ten and have never looked back. Under the guiding light of Athena, I have been a practicing Witch since I was twelve years old (much to my mother's delight, and my father's dismay and great consternation). The winding, Gnostic form of path I find myself on has led me to pick up several occult disciplines along the way during the course of my studies. I find that my greatest talents lie in the arts of Astrology, though I could probably bring my proficiencies with Tarot, Numerology and even Palmistry up considerably if I had the interest in doing so.
I have also studied several forms of Wicca and Paganism, as well as Catholicism (which I still do not understand in the least), Hinduism, Islam, Thelema, Qabalah, and what is known of Ancient Greek practices. It is my honor to serve as the Distinguished Faith Group Leader for my local military Pagan circle in Hawaii. I am also a Usui Reiki Level I practitioner.
Unlike many who write blogs like this, I am NOT a natural medium or a natural empath: what skills I have learned have not come easily to me, except in the field of Astrology. While I do some clairvoyance to keep in practice with it, I have the common Scorpio's fault of failing to trust myself and my own intuition. Unfortunately, I do have some anxiety issues which can be magnified by the empathy unless I keep closed off for the most part: as a result, I often come across much more gruff and harsh than I mean to in person. Truly, I don't bite... hard... for a Scorpio... double... O.o Bitch-Witch? Me? NEVER! (Ok, that's bullshit...)
Knitting, crochet, online video games, political debate (my rudder is pretty hard a-port in most, but not all, cases), making bad puns - all of these are just some of my favorite activities. I swear like a Sailor (both of my parents were Sailors themselves, and I married a Navy "snipe" - that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!). I love to read when I'm not doing something else - blogging, for one - and will study almost anything my hands find. Currently, my studies are ranging from relearning high school algebra (numbers never were my strong point), to the new (to me) field of Internet marketing, to learning how to garden, to Enochian/Angelic Magick, to tracking and analysis of major celestial events, to learning how to live without inviting all kinds of toxic chemicals into my house and my body, with plans to commence a BSBA double-major this fall (not counting the studying I still have to do for my job). I get busy, lol!

I live in Hawaii with my husband (Joe), my guardian furball who takes the form of a Chinese Shar-Pei (Lulu), and our beautiful daughter Deanna Jean.
